As the youngest in his class of 13, he placed third at the Great Western (06) and then went on to 1st and Color Champion at the ABR Fall Festival (2006). In March 2007, The Lad placed 1st at the Southwest Regional Show and at Texolan he took first and Reserve Color Champion. At Mopaca In January 2008, he was awarded first and Reserve Color Champion. His pen was crowded with admirers and he remains one of the main attractions for visitors to Dundee Farm. At his final show at GWAS, he placed first over a stunning true black Legacy grandson.

The Lad's cria micron came it at 18.2 with a comfort factor of 99. By two years of age, it had risen to 18.7. The Lad's 2012 report (age 7) came in at: AFD: 20.2, SD: 4.6, CV: 22.8, >30: 3.1... amazing considering his age and color. His crias first fleeces are coming in from 14.8 to 18.0.

He is dense, covered from head to toe to tail with curly, bright, fiber, and has extreme coverage on his remarkable head. He has the classic square bodied conformation and turns heads wherever he goes.
